Direct Deposit and Direct Payment are functions of the Automated Clearing House (ACH) service, an electronic payment method that utilizes a nationwide network for credit and debit payments. Some of the most common uses of ACH for payments include the following:
- Payroll
- Taxes
- Expense reimbursements
- Dividends
- Business to business
- Collection of billings on a regular payment schedule
For direct deposit payments, you provide Comerica with payment information (through Comerica TM Connect WebSM, for example). Your employees, retirees, or business partners would then receive their pay directly into their accounts (checking or savings).
For collections, you (along with your customer) would arrange to have your customer’s account debited for regularly scheduled payments due you.
You no longer have to spend the time or effort creating, reissuing and reconciling checks. You’ll enjoy the benefits of faster funds availability, improved collections, and fewer returns from your direct payments.
