Corey R. Bailey, Executive Vice President, is Head of Middle Market and Business Banking for Comerica Bank. He is a member of Comerica’s Management Executive Committee.
Bailey was named Executive Vice President and Head of Middle Market and Business Banking in August 2022. In his role, Bailey leads these segments nationally by providing companies with an array of credit and non-credit financial products and services. Through the years, Bailey’s scope of responsibilities has increased.
Bailey is a 26-year financial services veteran of Comerica Bank. In his previous role as Executive Vice President, Director of Credit Risk Management & Decisioning, he administered the credit administration duties for the Business Banking, Captive Insurance, Energy, Environmental Services, Financial Institutions, Health & Education, International, Leasing, Middle Market, Private, and U.S. Banking lines of business.
Bailey joined Comerica in January 1997 as a credit analyst in the bank’s commercial lending training program. He matriculated through the training program working in Energy and Middle Market lending before spending the next eight years as a senior relationship manager in Dallas middle market. In 2006, Bailey was promoted to Senior Vice President, Alternate Credit Administration Officer managing the credit administration duties for Comerica’s national heavy equipment business and two Texas middle market banking teams. In 2010, he assumed the role of Senior Vice President, Group Manager for Dallas middle market and spent the next eight years growing the practice into one of Comerica’s largest and most profitable middle market banking divisions. In 2018, Bailey was promoted to Senior Vice President, Chief Credit Officer of the Texas Market supporting the Energy, Middle Market – Texas and U.S. Banking lines of business. Bailey was named Executive Vice President, Director of Credit Risk Management & Decisioning in January 2020.
Bailey holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree in Finance from Baylor University and MBAs from the SC Johnson College of Business at Cornell University and the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University in Canada. Bailey continues to demonstrate his leadership within Comerica and abroad, serving as the bank’s United Way Leadership Giving Chair and as a former board member of the Texas Risk Management Association.
