Megan D. Burkhart, Senior Executive Vice President, is Chief Administrative Officer for Comerica Incorporated. Burkhart leads Human Resources, Corporate Responsibility and the Business Program Management Office. She is a member of Comerica’s Management Executive Committee.
The Human Resources division leads Comerica’s efforts to develop people strategies that support the bank’s business objectives. Comprised of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Talent Acquisition; Total Rewards; Talent, Learning, & Organizational Change Management; HR Consulting; and HR Operations & Risk, the HR team works to cultivate an environment that fosters talent attraction, growth and retention.
Corporate Responsibility works to enact sustainable and systemic change leading Comerica’s ESG efforts and to deliver on the bank’s overall commitment to the communities it serves through the Corporate Sustainability and External Affairs teams. Additionally, the team includes Corporate Communications, Government Relations, Corporate Contributions & Events, Quality and Executive Administration.
The Business Program Management Office provides enterprise-wide support on large-scale business projects and consultation on project management best practices, tools and processes.
Burkhart joined Comerica in 1997 and held various progressive roles until she was named Senior Vice President and Director of Compensation in 2007. In 2010, Burkhart was named Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer, serving in the role until her promotion to Senior Executive Vice President, Chief Administrative Officer in January 2023.
Burkhart earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
Burkhart serves on the board of Xcel Energy, a major U.S. electricity and natural gas company, with operations in 8 Western and Midwestern states. She is a member of Xcel’s Audit Committee and Governance, Compensation and Nominating Committee.
Among her community affiliations, she serves on the board of Austin Street Center and the HR Committee for Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas. Burkhart is also a graduate of the Leadership Dallas Class of 2016.
