At Comerica we want you to understand how a federal regulation affecting all banks affects your ability to make ATM and everyday Comerica Debit Card transactions if your account is inadvertently overdrawn.
To review your options, please read these frequently asked questions (FAQs) below.
What is the law?
Federal Reserve Regulation E requires that you must notify your bank of your consent if you want certain transactions made with your Comerica ATM or Debit Card to be eligible for payment under the bank's overdraft services when your account is inadvertently overdrawn.
Do I have to provide consent every time I use my Comerica ATM or Debit Card?
No, you only have to call or visit your local Comerica banking center one time.
What kind of transactions will this affect?
Any one-time purchases made with your Comerica ATM or Debit Card (merchant, online or telephone) or any cash withdrawals/transfers at an ATM.
What will happen if I do not provide consent?
All Comerica Debit Card purchases and ATM withdrawals/transfers will be declined when sufficient funds are not available in your account.
